Our History

SHUEL'S Lumber Co. has always been a hometown building materials supplier. Back in 1973, Bill Shuel opened as a drywall brokerage company. In July 1974 he expanded into roofing and other building materials. Shuel Wholesale Lumber Co was born. In 2010 Bill was ready to retire and Shuel's was purchased by long-time employees Bob Velasquez, John Dell and Bill's daughter, Dayna Shuel. In October 2021, cousins, Scott Wellner and Roxanne Brady bought the yard. What was originally started with a single small building on a gravel lot has grown to two large warehouses and an expanded office & retail showroom, all still on the original location. We are still a family-owned business nearly 50 years later. While the family has changed, the philosophy of being a hometown lumberyard has not.
